Hobby
As you probable already noticed one of my biggest hobbies is fiddling around with electronics and computers. Besides that I also enjoy photography and videomaking. I've taken quite a few pictures during our trip in New Zealand of which I've posted a few. Since our travel-webdiary was so popular I've planed to set up a photoblog were I would post pictures from our trip.
We both enjoy hiking, and I have some videotape from our tramps in NZ, which I will need to edit during next winter. The diving on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia was spectacular which I'm happy we got on video. For photos I use a Panasonic semipro FZ20 which I'm quite happy with, it's not a DSLR but it has a great lens and is quite ok in low light. Video I shoot with a Panasonic 3CCD GS280. I like Panasonics range of cameras, they are good value for money. Somewhat bad in poor light but brilliant colors in good light and I especially like the imagestabilizers on both of them. I have a Ewa-marine bag for shooting underwater video. It's only rated down to 10 meter but since the most colors except blue and green disappear after 10m, there's no point taking a camera deeper without a flash or light.
- After climbing for three hours up Mount Ngaurohoe (also known as Mount Doom in the Lord of the rings), we stopped to catch the breath. The view over Mount Tongariro was breathtaking and it's a memory I will never forget.
